F. Skinner, in the early 1900's, when he unknowingly projected the operation of the primary defense mechanism of his own MIND [DM=SI] as what he called "Behaviorism".

Skinner was a behavioral scientist, and he was a "Thinker" [or someone confined to thinking as his primary means of dealing with life], and he was not trained in the field of Psychology. He had not undergone a program of personal psychotherapy in other words, the primary purpose of which is to help a student of Psychology awaken to the Esoteric MIND realm which can ONLY be accessed by the faculty of intuition.

And in regard to what used to be a fundamental requirement that anyone entering the field of Psychology had to undergo a program of personal psychotherapy in hopes of developing the student's faculty of intuition [or the ability to experience the Esoteric dimensions within oneself], what those otherwise well-intentioned leaders of Psychology did not properly appreciate is that not "everyone" is capable [ "ready"] to awaken to the Esoteric dimensions within him/herself. Nor were they sufficiently knowledgeable of what enables a person to be "ready"?

What enables one to be "ready" is an advanced level of Spiritual Evolution. But, how many people know what I mean by "Spiritual Evolution". We in America have been subjected to a century of denial of the Esoteric dimensions of Man. We have been taught to deny two-thirds of ourselves and two-thirds of Reality. We have been taught to deny and ignore our intuition, and as a consequence of this, we have lost the awareness of the two most crucial elements of Life.

Every conflict that would send one in search of professional help is "caused" by ones MIND. When the professional one would pay a substantial amount of money to for help has no idea what your MIND is, or how it works, what are you paying the money for?

Read about Esochology, and perhaps your "conflict" can be eased by simply increasing your own understanding of more of yourself...

Peace

James W. Patterson, Ph.D.

What you are about to read may strike you as strange. Indeed, for those who are not students of Psychology as taught by the ancient Greeks, what you are about to read is an introduction to the formation of the human personality... but it will seem more like science fiction than an actual explanation of how the human personality is formed. Once you understand how the personality is formed [not currently known by mental health generally] you will be more prepared to comprehend what happens in the personality formation process to cause some people to wind up with a condition we refer to by the label “Liberal-Type Personality Syndrome”.

Let me begin by saying that to discuss the L-TP Syndrome, I must first introduce you to a mini lecture regarding two important concepts that are new to most people: 1) That the Whole Human Being is composed of three simultaneously existing realms of energy [only one of these is physical]; And 2) that two of the three are too subtle for your brain and physical senses to perceive. This means that the vast majority of Westerners are not aware of two-thirds of who and what they are. These two-thirds of Man are generally referred to as the “Esoteric” realms within Man.

The reason you are not aware of this critically important two-thirds of yourself is that modern mental health operates according to the tenets of the oxymoron “behavioral psychology”. For convenience we will refer to “behavioral psychology’ by the symbol BS. The Psychology of the ancient Greeks used the prefix “psyche” for the term Psychology because “psyche” refers to “self, soul, and mind”, or the subtle nonphysical dimensions of the Whole Human Being. That is, the two-thirds of ourselves that our brains and physical senses cannot perceive.

The unfortunate fact is, those individuals most likely to teach and write about the subject of “psychology” today are intellectuals, or those individuals who are most dependent upon the Left-Hemisphere of their brains for understanding. Generally speaking, individuals who gravitate toward the vocations of science, philosophy, and “behavioral psychology” or BS, are those individuals whose MINDs limit them to the Left-Hemisphere of their brains for understanding of life.

That is, such individuals are unknowingly in denial of their emotional MIND realms, and they are limited to the L-H of their brains in their search for understanding. It is unfortunate as well that their access to “intuition” is also diminished.

The idea of “behaviorism” which became the BS of today was given to the West in the early 1900’s by a behavioral scientist named B. F. Skinner. Skinner was not atypical of many of his time who believed that there was nothing that the human brain could not understand. In the early 1900’s, there were very few engaged in the study of Psychology because at that time anyone seeking to study Psychology had to first expose him/herself to his/her own MIND realm and the intense fears hidden therein. This requirement prevented many, like Skinner, from pursuing the study of Psychology.

Fully ignorant of the MIND realm within himself, and like many in his day contemptuous of the Spiritual realm within Man, Skinner’s MIND provided him the Delusional Thinking that prompted him to suggest a new way of studying Man by studying the behavior of Man by “thinking only”. Being ignorant and untrained in a study of the MIND, Skinner had no way of knowing that what he was “thinking” was being fed to him by his own MIND. Nor did he realize that his thinking was in actuality a projection of the primary Defense Mechanism of his MIND. That is, a denial of the Esoteric realms within himself by focusing the Attn Aspect of his Apapsyche* in the L-H of his brain, and keeping it fixed there by ignoring any impulse he might have to question his Delusional Thinking.

* In this mini lecture I will introduce the term “Apapsyche” as a much better way to refer to the “Operational Energy of ones Soul”... which may have been the original purpose of the term “consciousness”? In any case, your Apapsyche provides you with your faculties of intuition, empathy, and conscience. Your Apapsyche operates via two aspects: The Attn Aspect (the faculty to focus ones attention); And the Awar Aspect (the faculty of experiencing what the Attn Aspect is focused upon).

The MIND routinely feeds thoughts to ones brain to “direct” one in meeting ones Fate Karma. Now this sentence is a difficult one for many people in the West to comprehend or even read. The reason is that it flies in the face of the Christian fear of any Eastern term, idea, or concept. In the West, we have habitually been told to eschew all teachings of an Eastern nature. In doing so, we make ourselves openly vulnerable to the subtle and normally non-conscious fears hidden within our MINDs regarding the “Unknown” Esoteric realms “hidden” within ourselves.

An ignorance of the Esoteric realms within oneself, that is, a lack of Knowledge of ones MIND and Spiritual realms, greatly reduces ones access to intuition (natural psychic insight), empathy, and conscience. Religious zealots oddly enough rage as a consequence of their ignorance of the Spirituality within themselves. Just one of the paradoxes that accompany ignorance of the Esoteric MIND and Spiritual realms existing within oneself.

The phenomenon within which the Liberal-Type Personality Syndrome occurs is one created at birth when ones MIND misperceives the intense fears active within the MINDs of ones parents and misinterpreted by ones MIND as who and what one is at ones Core. This sentence is not really comprehensible without explaining that our MINDs automatically communicate with one another.... but at a level that our physical senses cannot perceive. I use the symbol “DEc” to stand for the Direct Esoteric communication that takes place between the MIND and Spiritual realms of individuals... whether they are aware of this communication or not.

Much of the subtle interchange between people goes quite unnoticed most of the time... although from time to time even the most cutoff among us get a “hit” of something amiss with a loved one that we cannot cognitively explain how we know that something is wrong. We know it intuitively. We know it because our MINDs communicate what is actively being repressed to those who are open to such communication: psychics, loved ones who are emotionally open, and the rare therapist who despite training, still has empathic access to his/her own Apapsyche.

The MIND of everyone born on this physical plane takes-on some misperceptions of fear regarding who and what one is at ones Core. This is the source of the “MONSTER” that many fear resides within them. Such belief is not delusional, it is merely registering ones normally repressed misperceptions. Of course modern mental health is devoid of the proper training and psychotherapeutic experience to have discovered the truth of the intense misperceptions that exist within all of us.

Given that each of us takes-on these intensely negative, and thus very scary misperceptions.... how is it that only some of us suffer from the L-TP Syndrome? It is true that everyone has some level of repressed fear hidden within ones MIND realm, but what differentiates the L-TP Syndrome individual from others are ones parents, and the specific environment of ones birth and the first couple years of ones life.

Recall my mentioning the DEc phenomenon, wherein our MINDs communicate with one another at levels that our brains cannot perceive, well those children whose parents have MINDs that harbor especially intense fear of who and what they are at their Core [ones Core is ones Spiritual realm, and this means ones Apapsyche... or ones access to the Right-Hemisphere of ones brain... which is the doorway to ones “intuition”, “empathy”, “conscience”, and ones ability to readily reach deep within oneself for that energy specially reserved for aggressive actions in defense of oneself... this energy is Yang MIND-level emotional energy]. This Yang energy is the energy one needs to become emotionally involved personally and to assume personal responsibility for ones experience. This is also the energy of self-exposure. Fear of exposing this energy is directly related to the fear one holds regarding ones Core. When one is severely limited in such exposure, ones MIND engages a block to prevent such exposure. This block is what I refer to as the L-TP Syndrome.

Why “Liberal-Type”? Simply because over some thirty years of working with the deeply repressed emotions of clients, I have discovered that those individuals who seek: More government control over their lives; More laws to restrict the actions and behaviors of individuals; Those who fear and often hate the military; Those who intensely seek to reduce punishment for criminals... while insisting that personal responsibility plays no part in criminal activity; Those who seek a behavioral or physical solution to almost every problem of society... while eliminating “personal responsibility” as having anything to do with these problems are what we today refer to as “liberals”.

The fear of exposing ones Core Energy is an active fear for the individual suffering from the LTP Syndrome, but this fear is fully non-conscious to such a person. He/she has no way of perceiving his/her behavior, attitude, or thoughts because his/her MIND maintains his/her Attn Aspect of Apapsyche fixed in the L-H of his/her brain. As a consequence of having ones attention fixed in the Left-Hemisphere of ones brain most of the time, one naturally develops what is called in mental health “compensation”. These people overly develop the L-Hemisphere of their brains, and resolutely avoid the Right-Hemisphere of their brains.

That such people naturally gravitate toward those professions which rely solely upon use of the L-H of the brain is understandable. How so, you ask?

The primary Defense Mechanism of the MIND, or the primary way in which your MIND prevents you from accidentally being exposed to what your MIND holds hidden within itself is by feeding Delusional Thoughts to the Left-Hemisphere of your brain... which your brain, because it cannot differentiate between thoughts generated within itself and those fed to it by your MIND, “think” that all thoughts it processes are its own thoughts. While the Attn Aspect of your Apapsyche is fixed within the Left-Hemisphere of your brain [which is physical....] all your Awar Aspect of Apapsyche can experience is “thinking”, or the physical realm. Anytime some repressed bit of emotional trauma is stimulated, your MIND feeds some Delusional Thinking to the Left-Hemisphere of your brain, and slam... all you can experience is “thinking”. You are effectively cutoff from any awareness of your emotions entirely. For most of us this condition is a temporary one. But for those suffering from the L-TP Syndrome, this condition represents a normal experiencing of life.

Science, philosophy, accounting, banking, teaching, politics and scientific research are examples of professions those suffering from the L-TP Syndrome would find “safe”. For the last century the profession of mental health has been attractive to those suffering from the L-TP Syndrome because mental health no longer requires those within it to know anything about the MIND.

Suicide is the choice one makes when forced to decide between going “within” oneself to discover the source of ones “conflict” and avoiding exposure of ones Core by eliminating ones physical life. Such is the level of fear one has of ones Core that one would chose death rather than exposure. When those who offer “help” to youth contemplating suicide have as much fear of the Core within themselves as the youth has for the Core within him/herself... guess what the youth will chose?

And yet, when is the last time you heard of a mental health professional being found “responsible” for a youth in his/her care committing suicide? The most common symptom of the L-TP Syndrome is “denial”. That which all suffering varying levels of L-TP Syndrome share in common is a denial of the Core within Man. Of course an intellectual and abstract fascination with the Esoteric in Man is OK.... just as long as such interest remains strictly within the domain of the physical brain. As soon as you suggest using the Right-Hemisphere and intuition to access the actual energy of the Esoteric within Man all hell breaks loose.... and one is fortunate to escape with ones life. The nearly absolute “need” to avoid anything that might threaten to expose what the L-TP Syndrome sufferer fears must not be allowed to remain theoretical.

This writing is put forth for those who are not prevented from reading it by an active L-TP Syndrome, and if you have gotten this far, you are free of this Syndrome. Because this Syndrome is so little known, and that it is aggressively resisted by those in mental health, only those of us who are free of this Syndrome can even discuss it. And only we who are free of the Syndrome can do what is required to defend ourselves and the nation from those with this L-TP Syndrome.

It sounds melodramatic to suggest that the enemy of America is not to be found outside America, but is to be found in the seats of government that make the decisions that will or will not protect us. Only someone mostly free of the L-TP Syndrome is psychologically open enough to “judge” which decisions of government are in our best interests and which decisions are not. Only someone free of the influence of the L-TP Syndrome can determine a decision based solely on whether or not it is good for the nation. Any decision that would require the exercise of Yang energy will be resisted by those suffering from the L-TP Syndrome. Any bill that would require “personal responsibility” on the part of the people of America will be intensely resisted by those operating under the L-TP Syndrome. Those operating under the L-TP Syndrome will automatically vote against any bill that requires the legislator to exercise “personal responsibility”.

The worst thing with the L-TP Syndrome is that the MIND of the individual suffering from this Syndrome would never present a bill that in any way threatens what he/she fears. Nothing that would require personal responsibility in other words.

To imagine that a government run by people suffering from the L-TP Syndrome might address a problem whose correction would demand someone be “responsible” for anything is silly. Bills that place more money in the hands of those who have thoroughly demonstrated failure to do something meaningful [responsible] can be expected.

America is at a rather serious crossroads that only some of the citizens recognize. The downward slide of morality in America can be placed at the feet of those at various levels of government who absolutely fear “personal responsibility” and will intensely resist anyone who seeks to exercise responsibility.

The growing war against religion in America, and the war against the term God is growing stronger because those who fear the Spirituality within themselves have been allowed to project their fear unhindered. Unless those of us who do not share the fears of those suffering the L-TP Syndrome begin working against them, we will find ourselves living in a government-ruled state where we are miserable, hated, and at risk for the crime of being normal.

James W. If so, where do you suppose it is located, and do you suppose it has anything to do with your life? Secondly, do you believe you have a MIND separate from your brain?

Modern mental health avoids dealing with the MIND and Spiritual realms within Man by simply ignoring two-thirds of the Whole Human Being. This rather silly practice was introduced in the early 1900’s, as a delusional projection from the MIND of B. F. Skinner, which he labeled “behaviorism”. Behaviorism rests upon the idea that “mind and consciousness cannot be meaningfully defined or studied” [Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, 1970].

The only part of this definition that is wrong is that it is not true, and it fails to expressly point out that it was Skinner himself that could not study the Esoteric realms within himself.... by thinking. By using his brain, in other words. Also missing in this definition is the little known fact that each person has a fear of what is hidden within his/her MIND... and thus, a fear of the MIND itself. Awareness of this fear varies among people, but everyone has some fear that he/she is not aware of.

Really rare is anyone in mental health who acknowledges the fact that this fear of the “Unknown” is just as active in those in mental health as is is in people generally. The reason for this is simple to explain. The only way to awaken to this fear of the Unknown [which includes ones Spiritual realm, ones MIND and numerous traumata deeply repressed within oneself] is to either be born with a natural psychic access to the Esoteric realms within oneself, or to complete ones own program of psychotherapy with someone capable of facilitating such discovery.... those capable of facilitating such discovery within mental health today might number as high as 1% of everyone licensed to do so.

Also missing in most books, articles, and papers written “about” what the authors “think” mental health or psychology might be is.... any actual Knowledge of the MIND and how it subtly works within Man.

In such a state of ignorance regarding the “mental” dimension of mental health, what can you expect from the fully licensed mental health expert? If you need help, the “causal” behind your need is a conflict within your MIND [always]. However, since your MIND is not something separate from you brain [as far as the mental health expert is concerned] what you can expect is a process of being accused of “causing” your own conflict, and a questioning of “why” you would want to do that?

Should you balk at this attack upon you, you will be accused of “resisting” therapy. You will be seen as being uncooperative and unwilling to open up.... of course your “expert” mental health professional is filled with an active fear of what is causing your own “conflict”, and the fear of this professional is subtly communicated to your MIND, which exacerbates your MINDs fear. The net result is a greater need to “act out” the energy being generated within your MIND as the fear within it is further stimulated.

Widely unknown in mental health today is what I refer to as DEc [or Direct Esoteric communication]. Ones MIND automatically communicates anything actively stimulated within it to the MINDs of others in ones immediate environment. Ones MIND deals with this stimulation by engaging a Defense Mechanism... a part of which includes a phenomenon known in mental health by the term “Scotoma”. Fritz Perls, in his book: In and Out the Garbage Pail , used the phrase “blind spot” to refer to Scotoma. He further said that Scotoma had the ability to prevent one from “seeing” or “hearing” certain things that ones MIND interprets as threatening. Fritz Perls, was unusual in his ability to use intuition [an aspect of Apapsyche or “consciousness”] in his work and understanding of the mental dimensions within Man.

B.F. Skinner, is quoted as saying that: “there is nothing from early childhood within the human being that could influence ones present behavior”. He said this from his ignorance of the MIND realm within himself, of course. He was also influenced by his fear of the Unknown within his MIND.... as his MIND fed the Left-Hemisphere of his brain D-Think [Delusional Thinking] which caused him to “think” as he did.

So what is missing in mental health today is the training necessary to prepare those within the field of mental health for meeting the demands of their profession.... relative to the “mental” requirements of the profession. Without completing a proper course of personal psychotherapy as an absolute minimum requisite for anyone in the field of mental health, the field remains unprepared to meet the demands of those who look to it for expertise regarding the needs of the Whole Human Being.

James W. And by "conflict" I mean behaving in an "unusual or uncharacteristic manner".

The question is what causes the "conflict" ? Unfortunately, since about 95% of those in the field of mental health today have no clue what the MIND is, how it works, or what can be done about it when it is in conflict..... when I use the phrase "MIND level conflict" I had better explain what I mean.

Does it seem strange to you that those who hold themselves out as "experts" in the "mental" health of people are quite ignorant of what the conflict is that causes what we label a "problem in mental health"? I know it seems strange, but for over a century now, the fields of mental health and "psychology" have been fully dominated [although normally unknown to those in these fields] by the tenets of "behaviorism".

The idea of behaviorism was concocted in the early 1900's by B.F. Skinner, a behavioral scientist with no training in or knowledge of the Esoteric realms within Man. In other words, he had no idea what his MIND was.... and assumed that neither the MIND or Spiritual realms within Man could even be studied. His idea of behaviorism was provided him by his own MIND, but being ignorant of the MIND and how it works, he thought that his thoughts regarding what he labeled behaviorism were "created" by his own thinking. He didn't realize that all his thoughts were fed to his brain by his MIND as part of its Defense Mechanism. His MIND cleverly fed his brain its own patterns of denial of itself and the Spiritual realm within him as a "new alternative to the Psychology of the ancient Greeks".

Being ignorant of the Esoteric realms within himself, he was unable to distinguish between his own delusional thinking and reality. Alas, he was not alone in this ignorance, nor was he alone in his intense fear of the Esoteric realms within himself. Soon, tens of thousands of people who were curious about Psychology but unknowingly too fearful to study it because traditional Psychology required one to begin by studying the Esoteric within oneself.... were only too happy to sign up with his "new psychology" that promised that one could study Man as a one-dimensional thing while simply denying the Esoteric two-thirds of Man.

As a behavioral scientist, Skinner knew no better, and those who were unknowingly fearful of the Esoteric within themselves were grateful for a way to pretend to study Man. Over the last century in America the delusional ideas of behaviorism have come to dominate the entire mental health field. So much so that today not one in a thousand in mental health has any idea what the MIND is. Lacking this Knowledge - which can be obtained only experientially - they can be easily controlled by their MINDs, and thus they are no more prepared to treat conflicts in mental health than those they pretend to treat.

A conflict in mental health is a conflict within ones MIND realm. And this conflict is usually between ones MIND, determined to maintain a habitual pattern of action, and ones Apapsyche [Operational Energy of ones Soul], wherein the time for ones MIND to release from repression some bit of dissociated Apapsyche is being resisted [out of habit] by ones MIND. This conflict can be readily addressed by a competent and properly trained individual. Where might one find such a person?

At present I only know of those whom I have personally trained because the field of mental health is currently dedicated to preventing professionals from discovering what they need to know to properly treat people. The fields of mental health and "psychology" are dominated by and controlled by those who are most fearful of the Esoteric realms hidden within themselves and thus, they both deny the importance of this Knowledge, and work to prevent anyone from seeking to discover it.

So, what is "Mental Health" ? Mental Health is the state of ones MIND.... relative to whether or not ones MIND is actively repressing something within itself whose time has come to be surfaced to cognitive awareness. A conflict within ones MIND causes one to experience a sense of being disoriented, confused, depressed, anxious, and sometimes even to experience some level of paranoia. All of which automatically disappears when the conflict within ones MIND is addressed through proper treatment. Unfortunately, currently how these symptoms are addressed is to create drug addicts of individuals who trust mental health. The only beneficiary are the drug companies.

James W. However, even if you think you know something, don't pass up this opportunity to learn the "secrets" of human Psychology that have baffled people over the ages.

Before we begin, let me also inform you that after reading this blog, you will know more about Psychology that 90% of the professionals in mental health today.

Ready? Alright then, and away we go to explore the deepest mysteries of the Psychology of Man. Let us begin with who and what we are as Whole Human Beings. We are all composed of three simultaneously existing, and yet separate realms of vibrational energy that are all sharing the same time and space. In other words, in addition to our physical body and brain, we are also composed of two subtle parts that our brains cannot perceive because their energies are not physical.

These two subtle dimensions of who and what we are represent the two-thirds of Man that mental health has denied and ignored for over a century now. What would cause professionals in mental health to deny two-thirds of Man? The answer is fear. A very subtle fear of the "Unknown" hidden within these "professionals".

You see, in the early 1900's, a behavioral scientist named B.F. Skinner, who knew absolutely nothing about the Psychology of the ancient Greeks, decided that he wanted his study of animal behavior to be included in the study of Psychology, and for himself to be referred to as a "psychologist".... even though he knew absolutely nothing of the subject of Psychology. For some reason the field of Psychology allowed this. A very stupid thing to do, but those in the field at the time did it.

Skinner had two ideas that he treasured. One was his belief that the MIND and Spiritual realms within Man could not be "meaningfully studied". The second thing was his belief that there was nothing within Man that could explain Man's behavior. He believed these things due to his ignorance regarding Psychology. Why Psychologists at the time allowed such nonsense is a mystery.

So, a major reason for you not knowing very much about who and what you are and why you operate as you do is the fact that mental health has taught and operated under a plan put forth by Skinner that he labeled "Behaviorism". That was a century ago. Behaviorism was - [unknown to Skinner] - a projection by his own MIND via thoughts fed to his brain that simply put forth an idea that replicated the basic Defense Mechanism of his own MIND.... as it prevented him from discovering it, or the fear it repressed within him. His MIND accomplished this by intensely focusing him on the things around him... while preventing him from "seeing" anything that would cause him to wonder about what lay hidden within himself.

The term in mental health for this phenomenon that prevented Skinner from "seeing" or "hearing" anything that would be counter to his "beliefs" is called "Scotoma". And Fritz Perls, in his In and Out the Garbage Pail... referred to Scotoma by the phrase "blind spot". The professionals in mental health today suffer from the same problem, and their training simply reinforces their natural Scotoma.

The prefix the ancient Greeks used for Psychology was "psyche". They chose this term because psyche is defined as referring to Self, Soul, and MIND... or the Esoteric realms within Man. Skinner, because of his ignorance of Psychology saw nothing wrong with introducing his own "behavioral psychology" wherein he created an oxymoron by combining "Psychology" [referring to the subtle and non-physical parts of Man] with "behavior" which is a purely physical activity. Modern mental health just ignores this obvious oxymoron because the professionals have no idea what the MIND and Spiritual realms within Man are, how they operate, or what their purpose is. By using the terms brain and MIND interchangeably they can fool themselves into thinking that they know what the MIND is... by simply calling it the brain.

The brain is a physical muscle and part of the physical body. The MIND is a subtle body of vibrational energy whose only relationship with the brain is that it, the MIND, feeds thoughts to the brain which are most often of a delusional nature. How the MIND does this is a bit too technical for our discussion here... however, if you are truly interested, then research my web site for details.

There is an extremely subtle phenomenon within us that oversees all the many Esoteric realms operating within us to serve the "purpose of life". I refer to this as the Esotransmutation Process, and it combines the MIND; the Apapsyche; ones Fate Karma; and ones brain/physical body in fulfilling the "purpose of life".

The term "Apapsyche" utilizes "apa" from Sanskrit meaning "work or working" and from the Greek, the term "psyche" refers to Self, Soul, and MIND. I use Apapsyche to refer to the "Operational Energy of the Soul". Again, all this is explained for those interested in the same web site. Basically, the term Apapsyche is a substitute for that of "consciousness" because consciousness has been so over-used for phenomena not Esoteric that it no longer is limited to the Esoteric.

What have we discussed of mental health? That it ignores two-thirds of who and what Man is; that it has done this for over a century now; and that if you comprehend that your brain is not your MIND, then you know more than 90% of those currently licensed to practice mental health in America. We will discuss more in our next blog...

James W.
